The Cumberland Trail Fire District #4 was created in 1989 by joint agreement by the City of St. Clairsville and Richland Township. The district covers 59 square miles and serves a population of about 15,000. We are located in Belmont County which is in Southeastern Ohio and borders Wheeling, WV. This area is a mix of residential, agriculture, commercial and industry lands. We have a large volume of commuter traffic through our coverage area daily.
The fire district operates out of two stations: Station 23-1 is located in the City of St. Clairsville, and Station 23-2 is located in Richland Township. We are a full-time fire department supplemented by part-time staffing. We have 20 Firefighter II/Paramedic full-time employees and 23 part-time employees. Twenty of the current part-time employees have either Firefighter I or II state-certified training. All part-time employees have a minimum of an EMT certification.
